User Research

I collaborated with the company's Pride Employee Resource Group (ERG) as a focus group throughout the design process. Rather than making assumptions about representation, I brought the community into the decision-making — running multiple design iterations and refining based on their direct feedback.

My process

  • Facilitated iterative feedback sessions with the Pride ERG to evaluate concepts and guide design direction.

  • Explored a range of visual approaches, balancing Pride symbolism with Discover's brand system.

  • Used community input to make intentional, informed choices about color, iconography, and tone.

Outcome

A new pride card design that honors community identity while fitting within a real-world financial product context.
